A variety of pastimes and parades occupied the lives of Flemington residents through the years. Fond memories grew out of these events for many. In 1905 Flemington sponsored a mardi-gras type carnival involving the whole community for a week in August. The big event was the Crazy Parade on Saturday. Sleighing in winter season was common means of transportation as well as sport. 1898 Flemington passed ordinance forbidding reckless driving and allowing racing between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. during sleighing time. Forbid racing for money. Flemington Woman's Club staged annual carnivals every summer on the site of the public park West of the Courthouse-1907- Roller Coaster at Bellewood Park in Pattenburg were operated by Lehigh Valley Railroad as an Amusement Park until 1915. 1910-Flemington's first auto parade.
